The fine sandy estuary beach at Instow is easily accessible via a short scenic drive or enjoyable level walk or cycle on the Tarka Trail. Westward Ho! has 2 miles of golden sands great for surfers and sandcastle makers. Other beaches nearby include Croyde Saunton and Woolacombe. The historical town centre of Barnstaple offers many amenities including an indoor swimming pool theatre cinema and wide range of shops pubs and restaurants all within a short drive.
